Son of the late Anna and Thomas Tynan of Denver, CO. Born Dec. 29, 1923 and entered into eternal life June 3, 2010. He is survived by his youngest brother Robert Manley Tynan, and preceded in death by his sisters Regina and Ruth, and brothers Thomas, John, James and Edward. Uncle Bill is survived by numerous nephews and nieces, and is preceded in death by his nephews Jack, Kevin, Tom, and Brian. William Joseph Tynan was born in North Bergen, NJ and moved to Colorado in 1931. He attended St. John the Evangelist Grade School, Holy Cross Abbey School and graduated from Regis High in 1942. William enlisted in the Army Medical Corps and served in Europe from 1943 to 1946. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Business. During the years 1954-1960, William worked on the staff of the famous Boys Town in Nebraska serving troubled youth. In 1960, William professed vows as a Brother of Charity, Immaculate Heart of Mary and lived and worked in California with that order until 1976 when he returned to Colorado to care for his ailing mother. William was particularly devoted to Mary the Mother of God and until 2008, when he could no longer physically manage to participate, was a member of the Ambassadors of Mary, the Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima. For over 25 years, he and his fellow Ambassadors dedicated their Saturday afternoons to process from home to home with a statue of Our Lady of Fatima and said the Rosary, meditating on the mysteries of Christ's life and praying the Litany of Saints remembering all of his family in his intentions. The Ambassadors are still carrying on this devotion today. He was a dedicated volunteer and proud American. He served 8, 771 volunteer hours trans-porting his fellow veterans from hospital room to surgery to rehab and back to their rooms for recovery at the VA Hospital in Denver. William was recognized for his outstanding volunteer efforts of 29 years (from 1973 to 2001), by the Veterans Administration. Recitation of the Rosary will take place at 9AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10AM, Monday, June 7, Christ the King Catholic Church, 860 Elm St., Denver.
