William Bernard ""Bill"" Yuchs

July 14, 1918 — May 23, 2014

William Bernard ""Bill"" Yuchs of Gleneagles Village, Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away peacefully on May 23. Born in St. Louis, MO he served as a staff sergeant during WW II in the Hawaiian Islands and in the European Theater, receiving three bronze stars. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for 45 years in St. Louis and Kansas City, MO, Bartlesville, OK and Denver, CO He was a long-time fisherman, and many years enjoyed opening day for trout season in Missouri as well as tying his own fishing flies. Bill also enjoyed, bridge, golf and gardening, particularly trying to figure out how to grow tomatoes in Colorado's weather. With his loving wife, Ardelle, he enjoyed 35 years square dancing and round dancing in all of the cities where they lived as well as internationally in Europe and on cruises. Together he and Ardelle took more than 20 cruises to countries around the world. He is survived by Ardelle, his wife of 71 years, also from St. Louis, Missouri; children Donald Yuchs (Jane) and Beverly (Yuchs) Husted Petry (Jim) and grandchildren Katrina (Yuchs) Inslee, Neil Husted (Teryl) and Ryan Husted. A private memorial service for family with burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery will be held on June 3. At the family's request, no flowers or memorial donations.
