Bill Kostic passed away suddenly on December 12th, 2020 on the way home from mass. He was a loving father, faithful husband, artist, story teller, and friend to many. Bill was born in College Point, New York, to Alphonse and Anna Kostic.
Bill lived a full life of service to his community, church and country, serving in the Air Force in Boston, Massachusetts, and Libya (then Tripoli) as a radar technician eventually transitioning to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA, air traffic control) where he retired. Bill was also an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church as one of the first members when it began in Leroy elementary school (aka ‘Saint Leroys’). Not to be one to sit idle, Bill opened Tobacco Haven, a retail pipe shop downstairs near the fountains in the Northglenn Mall after retiring. Bill married his lifelong wife, Mary Kathryn Turner, in 1957. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Kay; son, Bill; and two brothers, Peter and John.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020, 10am, followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30am and Funeral Mass at 11am. All services will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 11385 Grant Dr., Northglenn. Burial to follow at Broomfield County Commons Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome, however, please consider donating to your local foodbank as an alternative. Bill’s wife and son frequently work as volunteers and donate to multiple foodbanks in Denver.
We will miss Bill and cherish all of the wonderful memories we have of him in our hearts.
Please share your memories of Bill and condolences with his family by signing the Tribute Wall.
