William Edward McEneany passed away peacefully in the evening hours of Tuesday January 18th, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born on August 20, 1938, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to William Joseph and Genevieve Frances McEneany. He was born into a military family that involved extensive travel, including numerous locations throughout the United States and several years in Marburg, Germany.
Bill married Carolyn Fullerton on February 19th, 1971, and they celebrated nearly 51 years of marriage. Like his father, Bill joined the Navy at the age of 17 where he was a Radioman for 4 years. The skills he acquired while in the Navy led to him having a successful career as an air traffic controller in California and Washington.
Bill was a Christian and enjoyed being a part of his church community with his wife Carol. As a young man, Bill enjoyed sky diving, swimming, and diving. With his own family and into his golden age, Bill loved his boats and RV’s that allowed him to thoroughly enjoy his time camping, fishing, playing guitar and reading. Bill was a family man who enjoyed playing chess and watching his 2 grandchildren play hockey.
He is survived by his wife Carol of Colorado, his children Peggy of Nevada, Patrick of Washington, and Edward of Colorado and by his 11 grandchildren across the family. He was preceded in death by his son Mike of Washington and Sean of California, along with his late brother Peter of California. He is survived by his siblings Thomas of Oregon, Joseph of New Mexico, Elisabeth of Colorado, and Mary of California. His family and friends will remember him with love. His final resting place will be Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any contributions be sent directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease research. Arrangements under the direction of Horan and McConaty, Thornton, Colorado.
