William "Bill" Newell

We lost Bill to a short illness on September 23.  He passed peacefully at the Denver Hospice with his family holding him.

Bill was born in Long Beach, California on December 31, 1943 to Thurlo Newell and Helen Horn.

He had many stories of playing in the ocean with friends and his brother Gary. Bill loved football, CU, tennis, golf, Maine visits favorite relatives and the ‘market’.

He was a quiet leader and was committed to his career, friends and colleagues in mortgage lending.  He worked for PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. for 26 years and was dedicated to his work for the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association.

Bill is survived by his wife Leslie, daughters Jennifer Nethery (Richie) and Allie Hudson (Ted).  He very much loved his grandchildren Micaela and Malia Nethery and Cora and Hendrik Hudson.

He was predeceased by his brother Gary Newell.

Bill was devoted to his family; we will miss so much about him, especially his caring and principled nature and infectious laugh and sense of humor. We love you Bill.

There will be a private celebration of life this fall.
