Zelda Rae Geick

September 6, 1928 — October 11, 2019

Zelda Rae Geick, 91, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away peacefully in her sleep October 11, 2019. She was born to her parents Albert and Thelma Meyer on September 6, 1928.

Zelda is survived by her son, Robert and wife Melanie Hurley, brother Al and wife Iris Meyer, son-in-law Don Neil, grandchildren: Krissie Neil, Douglas (and wife Rossana and their children Regan and Riley) Neil, Aaron S. Mills, Sarah E Mills, plus numerous friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Thelma Meyer and children: Diana Neil, Jack Hurley, Barbara Hurley, Anita Hurley as well as two brothers: Wallace Meyer and Kenneth Meyer.

Zelda was a world class baker well known for her country style cooking. She even owned her own bakery and catering business in Texas with her dear friend Barbara Meyer, who recently passed October 4, 2019.

Zelda was an active servant of God in and outside of her church at Mission Hills. She provided meals for the International Students, Inc. (ISI) ministry at Denver University for several years. She also managed the weekly provision for the International Christian Fellowship gatherings at Gene Congdon's home by involving dozens of others who would bring a meal for 15-20 people.

She was a caring person who never had a bad word to say about others even when they couldn't see good in a situation. Zelda was always beautifully dressed for all occasions. She was gentle, tender, kind and dearly loved.

In honor of Zelda, a celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 East County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122.
