Zonia America Pacheco De Chacon Klumker, age 73 of Thornton Colorado, passed away on January 3rd, 2022 with her family by her side. She graduated high school as an Executive Secretary at the age of 17, in her home country of El Salvador. She went on to further her education in the United States, where she met her husband Raymond Richard Klumker Jr, whom she lovingly called Chele, while attending Blair Business College in Colorado Springs, Co. They married in June of 1970 and went on to have four children who she loved fiercely. They lived in Steamboat Springs, Colorado Springs, and Denver before finding their forever home in Thornton, where they both remained for the next 43 years.
After raising their four children, Zonia went on to work for District 12 where she became and instrumental part of North Star Elementary School. She retired after 22 years as the Secretary and as one of the districts Spanish Liaison’s. She helped many people in that community and was thought highly of by her coworkers and the students.
Zonia loved to travel with her husband and family which they did continually throughout the years. The two of them traveled to Bermuda, Mexico, Italy, France, Greece, China, Canada, and several countries in Central America (multiple times throughout their 52 years), and also took numerous trips to travel and explore the United States. Her last trip was to her home country of El Salvador, where part of her heart always remained. She loved to hike and snowshoe, where she fell in love with the Colorado Rockies. She would always say yes to other adventures like snowmobiling, zip lining, 4-wheeling, and snorkeling. Even at 5’1 she was known to be the toughest and strongest person people knew. She continued to show her strength until the very end of her life.
She was proceeded in death by her father Humberto Pacheco, mother Leticia Pacheco De Chacon, and her aunt who was like a second mother, Irma Tejada De Chacon, sister Norma Virginia Pacheco De Ramirez, and her beloved brothers Mario and Armando Pacheco De Chacon. She is survived by her husband Raymond, her children Richard, Erika, son-in-law Brandon Moe, Jason, Jessica, and daughter-in-law Wendy Klumker, the mother to her grandchildren who were her world and the light in the dark, Everette Jace Klumker and Leticia Shea Klumker, and her step granddaughter Izabella Findley. She is also survived by her cousins Hugo Ramiro Garcia Tejada and Aracely Acosta Chacon, whom she regarded as her brother and sister because of their closeness, her sister Ana Lidia Juarez De Pacheco, sister-in-law Zonia Carvajal, brother-in-law Charles Klumker, and her nieces and nephews Norma Ramirez, Humberto Ramirez, Mario Ramirez, Ana Maria Rodriguez, Lidia Rodriguez, Donald Klumker, and Wesley Klumker.
She will be laid to rest in Fort Logan National Cemetery and will also be going home to El Salvador.
She will forever be missed and loved.
