Antonio Mincic

1936 — January 1, 2022

Westminster, Colorado

On Friday, September 23, 2022, Antonio "Tony" Mincic was called home at the age of 86. He struggled with a long history of medical issues, especially the last 3 years. The world has lost a son, brother, husband, father, and friend.

Tony was born in Model, Colorado, on May 22, 1936. He is the son of Charles Vasili Mincic and Elizabeth "Savita" Porta Mincic. He grew up in Sopris, Colorado with his five brothers.

He graduated from Sopris High School in 1955. He also served as a mechanic in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960.  He was employed with Safeway and King Soopers, then retired after 52 years of service.

Tony met his wife Theresa Mattorano, in the town drug store where Theresa worked behind the counter. He asked her out and the rest is history. They were married on May 25th, 1961…they lived in Denver, Colorado until August of 1965 where they then moved to Westminster, Colorado.

Tony was a hard-working man; he was always proud to provide for his family. His greatest passions were wood and leather working. He always had something that he wanted to teach us kids. He loved to go fishing whether it was from a lake or river. He also loved baseball, playing when he was a youth and coaching as a parent. He also loved watching the Denver Broncos every Sunday…he even went to a few games and loved every minute.

Tony didn’t give long speeches or lectures…his actions were his teaching and with those actions would be short hints of advice. If you were to ask him what his greatest accomplishment was, he would most likely tell you that it was creating a family. He loved his family very much and always took pride in letting everyone know what an awesome family he had. There wasn’t anything that he would not do for each and everyone of us, he was that committed to his family. He set good examples and values for all of us to live by.

Preceding him in death are parents, Vasil and Elizabeth Mincic, his brothers Charles "Chuck", Lee, John, Nick and Pete Mincic, his sisters-in-law Louise, Rosemarie, Lenore, and MaryAnn Mincic.

He is survived by his wife Theresa Mattorano Mincic, his children: Vincent Craig Mincic (wife Sherry), Lynn McGill (husband Mike), Toni Mincic (fiancé Eric), his grandchildren: Samantha Colbert (husband Wade), Sean McGill, Kristen Stimmler (boyfriend Jake), Kasey Romero (husband Nick), Wesley Mincic (wife Brittany), Riley Mincic, great grandchildren: Sophia, Archer, Ella, Kaide, Kohen, Connor, Averie, and Baby Romero. Tony is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.
