Barbara Ann Smith

Born on December 12, 1940 in Denver, Colorado to William and Bessie Benson. Barbara graduated from Denver East High School in 1958.

She married soon after graduation and had two children: Son Fred, who preceded her in death, and daughter Catherine, who is living in Costa Rica.

In 1969, she met and married Veldon “Smitty” Smith, a Denver area entertainer. Theirs was a very close and wonderful love affair. Together, they had daughter Kelli.

Barbara’s employment in the 10 most recent years was with World Savings at Dry Creek and University, where she developed many great friendships.

After a 3-year battle with various pulmonary issues, she passed away on October 3, 2022. She was a devoted mother and loving wife, and she will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
