Charles Lon Allen was a husband, father, and a hero. He was born in Salinas, California, October 5, 1945, and died of cardiac arrest, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Littleton, Colorado.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Tina Weaver (Randy), Casey Allen (Anthony), and Rachel; his grandchildren, Jacob and Justin Russell, and Adam Arellano; and by his siblings Sharron Metcalf (Richard), Tad Allen (Carol), Faye Allen, and Wanda Allen.
Chuck served his country as part of the blue water navy on the USS Coral Sea. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.
After leaving the navy, he worked in the construction industry. He wasn’t just a carpenter, he was a craftsman.
In his later years, he kept America moving by hauling freight and he was always on-the-move himself, as a home inspector.
He lived in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Redding, and finally settled down in San Juan Bautista for his retirement.
Chuck was very kind and was known to be very social. He loved bantering with people about politics…whether they wanted to or not!
He married his wife Susan a second time, almost to the day, 36 years after they separated and had planned to move with her to Florida but time was not on their side.
A memorial tribute will be held Valentine’s Day in Seaside, California.
