Deanna Shinn

Deanna Shinn, age 80, passed away peacefully in her home on August 5, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Deanna was born in San Francisco, California on September 6, 1938 to Yook Funn Tom and Beulah Wong. She lived most of her life in the Bay Area, until she relocated to Aurora in 2017, to live with her oldest son and his family. Deanna worked as a branch manager for Bank of America for 35+ years. Her passion in life, was her family and spending time with her eight grandkids.

Deanna was the matriarch of the family. She was a very warm, loving and compassionate person, who lived life to the fullest, but never knew how to say, ""No!"" Deanna loved panda bears and had quite the collection of panda novelties!

She is survived by her four children: Darryl, Denise (and her husband, David DeMent), Darren and Randy; her grandchildren: Dominique, Tiffany, Megan, Nicholas, Rebecca, Andrew and Elizabeth and; her great grandchild: Addalyn. Deanna was the oldest of five: Lionel (4/11/2018), David, Donna, and Lolly. She is also survived by many members of her extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 7, 2019 10:30am at St. Theresa Church; 30 Mandalay Road Oakland, CA 94618 .
