Esther Ulibarri

Denver resident Esther A. Ulibarri 92, passed away November 25, 2022 at Franklin Park Nursing Home with family by her side. Esther was born on January 30, 1930 in Salida, Colorado, the daughter of Timoteo Rivera and Bertina Espinoza Rivera. Esther was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed growing roses in her garden, talking on the phone with family and friends, cooking, watching the Broncos and spending as much time with her grandchildren even if it meant driving to South Littleton or out to Parker, CO. Esther’s home was always open to anyone who needed a friend and someone just to listen to them. Esther / mom always found the positive in any situation and encouraged us to be considerate, thoughtful of others and always try to do the right thing.

Survivors include her sons Carey J. Ulibarri of Littleton, CO and Evrick E. Ulibarri of Parker, CO; grandchildren Catherine J. Bandstra of Littleton, Jamie (Cole) Nash of Parker, CO, Kevin Ulibarri of Denver, CO and Kate Ulibarri of Parker, CO; great-grandchild Blake and Brooklyn, Nash of Parker, CO, Avery Bandstra of Littleton, CO; brother Tim Rivera of Alamosa, CO. Esther is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents Timoteo and Bertina Rivera, husband Jose J. Ulibarri, daughter, Yvonne Gonzales, sister, Carol E. (Eugene Sr) Chacon, brothers Orlando (Rachel) Rivera, Levi (Lucy) Rivera and Gilbert Rivera.

Visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 5:30 PM at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home located at 11150 E. Darmouth Ave in Aurora, CO. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2022 at 12:00 PM also at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home located at 11150 E. Darmouth Ave in Aurora, CO. Interment will follow at the Fort Logan Cemetery, located at 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.
