GEORGE MARTIN SALVATORE
At sunrise, August 13th, 2019, George Martin Salvatore left this earth for Eternal Life.
Â
George was born in Trinidad, CO. to William & Carmela Salvatore and grew up in Sopris, Trinidad and spent many hours on the Salerno farm in El Moro. He was also guided by his Uncle Frank Salerno in Cotopaxi. (all deceased) George is survived by his wife Sandra, his children, Tony Deese & Amber Estes. He was step-father to Jeff Hinton, Natalie Kahn & Julie Farlano. His grandchildren are Dimitri & Lucius Estes, Raquel Farlano, Isabella & Sebastian Kahn. He is also survived by his siblings, Bill, Paul & Mary Salvatore & brother in law Don Gray with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. George served his country during the Vietnam era in the 82nd Airborne Division. He loved the thrill of being a paratrooper & took his last jump on his 70th birthday! Always a great outdoorsman he loved hunting, fishing and golfing. He lived for the Bronco & Rockies seasons! There wasn't anything George couldn't or wouldn't do & to the limit! As a businessman in the 1970's, ""Rockit"" Drywall, George contracted with the gov't to restore homes for the Ute Indian tribe in Ft. Duchesne, Utah & South Dakota to name a few. He was president of the Santa Fe, New Mexico Home Builders Assn. & the guiding force behind the Parade of Homes (Haciendas de Santa Fe). He held the office of NM Homebuilders Assn. as State V.Pres. & Chairman of the Education Committee. George won local, state & national membership awards. While a general contractor in Santa Fe, he was one of three national directors of home builders sent to Washington, D.C. on behalf of the NM. & CO. Builders Assn.
George loved life & so it was that through the VA he was blessed to receive a liver transplant in 2012. Thank you to all the donors out there! The following years included countless opportunities of challenges, new beginnings & deepening relationships. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, caregivers & staff that have assisted us along the way and to all the Prayer Warriors who have kept us lifted up in prayer!
As a friend of Bill W. for 34 years, George helped many others in their recoveries.
Happy Trails to you, Georgeâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ until we meet again!
