George Nick Sears, Jr., 83, entered his heavenly home on October 16, 2022. Nick was born in Anniston, Alabama on November 15, 1938. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, and son, George, one sister, Mary, of Piedmont, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews.
Nick began his walk with the Lord at age 12 and served in different churches in Alabama, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Colorado. Positions included deacon, teacher, soloist, and choir member.
After graduating from Anniston (Alabama) High School, Nick continued his education with an undergraduate degree from Jacksonville State University (Alabama) and a master's degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Nick started his civil service career as a clerk typist at Anniston Army Depot, Alabama. He retired as an accountant from the Department of Defense after thirty-seven and a-half years.
Nick loved sports whether it was playing golf or basketball or going to the University of Oklahoma football games. Being from the South, he had a passion for Southern Gospel music, especially quartets.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday 11/1/22 at 11 am, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nick can be made to the Arapahoe Road Baptist Church.
