We lost our beloved Dad, "Hank" at the age of 95. Our hearts are broken. All of his children surrounded him in the last days before he went to Heaven.
Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Gabrielle Anthone; his dear wife of 70 years, Janet C. Rosschaert) Anthone; his sister, Leona Lippire, and his brother Robert Anthone. Survived by his children, Barb (Mike) Hoody, Nancy (Walter) Fay, Jim (Jeanne) Anthone, John (Linda) Anthone, , Dan (Tricia) Anthone, Julie (Joe- deceased) Shedron; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren: brother, Albert Anthone; sisters in law, Patricia Anthone, Joan Moran, Sally Walsh; numerous nieces and nephews. Hank was born in Omaha, NE, the 2nd of 4 children to Belgian immigrants. He lived in South Omaha, until his family moved into the apartment at St. Cecelia's Cathedral. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1945, and then enlisted in the Navy as soon as he turned 18 years old in July. After his service, he attended refrigeration school. In 1950, he married the love of his life, Janet. In 1955, Hank and Janet moved to the Benson area, and became quite involved in St. Bernard's Catholic Church. They raised their growing, active family of 6 healthy children. He worked at Vickers Inc, where he became supervisor for the plant. In 1969, the family moved to Denver, CO, where he worked in sales for Calgon Corporation. They joined Risen Christ Catholic Church. Later, they moved on to St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Dad wore so many hats during his life. That of a Navy seaman, loving husband, dedicated father and exuberant "Grampy". One hat he was always proud to wear was his Denver Broncos hat. His love of family and country was something everyone admired and strived for in their own lives, He held an unwavering faith in the Lord close to his heart. He had a strong moral compass, and his integrity was second to none. When Dad wasn't playing in a softball game, he was spending time pitching to, and playing with his grandkids. Family time was of the utmost importance to him, and he reveled in the joy of a loud family get together, Family get togethers always included an ice cream bar or a hot fudge sundae because he loved ice cream so much.
If you were lucky enough to hear him laugh, that sound will live forever in your heart. It was contagious and joyful.
We all know that Dad is in Heaven reunited with Mom, and that gives us a great deal of comfort. Their love was something we always admired. We will miss him greatly even though we are thankful they are together again.
