Iris Luckel

Iris Delores Luckel was born July 16, 1930 in Scotia  Nebraska. She passed peacefully in her home, March 11, 2022 with her daughter Sandy at her side. Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Pearl Keep and the love of her life, husband Wayne Luckel. Iris is survived by her daughter Sandy Staley (Paul), son Rick Luckel (Kim), grandchildren Shelby Luckel (Rachel), Tory Luckel (Lisa), Lindsay Hall (Sean), and Amy Staley (Bill). Iris has 12 great grandchildren, Johan, Nelson, Dayana and Stephany Luckel, Jalen, Dakota and Aubrey Luckel, Nolan, Henry and Rylie Hall and Mollie and Maggie Palmer and Paige Metcalfe.  Iris is also survived by her sister Janice Reed, brothers Don Keep (Sharon) and Dean Keep (Gwen).
Iris received her bookkeeping certificate from Emily Griffith Opportunity School. Her professional life was as a bookkeeper for Bragdons Appliance Store for many years. Iris was a skilled artist and member of Rocky Mountain Hi Chapter of Decorative Painters. She joined in 1975 and served as telephone chairperson and facilities manager for many years. She received many blue ribbons for her paintings at art shows and many of her works hang in family homes. Iris was a women of faith who loved her family, Thursday Group, Painting Groups, and neighbors. A true friend who was always there whenever needed. Iris was extremely proper and always did the right thing. She took great pride in her painting, home and never had a hair out of place. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a nonprofit of your choice in Iris Luckel’s honor.
A funeral service for Iris D. Luckel will be held Friday March 25, 2022 at Horgan McConaty at 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora Co 80014. There will be a reception that follows. A private burial will take place at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.
