Jeannie Bares

Jeannie Ruth Bares, 73, of Centennial, CO passed away Monday, November 29th, 2021 at UCHealth Highlands Ranch. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 10th, 2021 at Horan & McConaty in Centennial, CO. The Rosary and Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., also at Horan & McConaty. Jeannie, the daughter of Maurice Winslow Churchill and Alma Marie Lichthardt, was born May 17th , 1948 in Redwood Falls, MN where she lived until she graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1966. While in high school Jeannie enjoyed playing the clarinet as well as participating in Pom-Pom Girls and school plays. After graduation, Jeannie moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a secretary before later moving to Colorado. In 1969, Jeannie moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked as a secretary to a law firm and oil company before becoming head secretary at The Insurance Company of North America. It was in the fall of 1970 that she met her husband, Kurt Bares and was married on October 6th, 1973 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Denver, CO. Jeannie and her husband were small-business owners and over the years, built a successful construction business together. Kurt and Jeannie were truly best friends and partners in life. Kurt and Jeannie were blessed with two daughters, Jessica Katherine (1979) and Brittany Ann (1981). Jeannie taught her family how important it is to value and love each other. That a family is there to cheer each other on in the good times and to hold each other’s hand through the bad. Jeannie loved walking outdoors, traveling, singing and dancing, giggling at bad jokes and planning/organizing anything and everything. She mostly cherished time with her family. Jeannie is survived by her husband and two daughters, Kurt Bares of Centennial, CO, Jessica Bares of Centennial, CO, and Brittany Bares of Phoenix, AZ as well as son-in-law, Ross Josephson and grand-dog, Charlotte of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are her sister, Karen Bohnet of Parker, CO and brother Clyde Churchill of Osakis, MN. Jeannie is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
