The world has lost a good one. Husband, dad, grandpa. Teacher, traveler and breakfast maker. He loved a good story and corny jokes. Never met a stranger and was a great friend to many. We will miss you terribly.
May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
John Phillip Crouch was born in Pratt, Kansas to William Crouch and Bessie Balfour Crouch. After graduating from Hoisington High, he proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from University of Kansas (Rock Chalk) in 1959. There he met and married Rosemary Thomas. They moved to Denver where he taught for over 40 years at Rishel Jr. High and West High. He really enjoyed teaching and never wanted to leave the classroom. For John the classroom was exciting, often challenging, but the rewards were such that it made it all worthwhile. John received his master’s at CU and did further graduate work at Arizona, Penn, CSU, DU, UNC and Mines. John spent almost 50 years officiating high school swimming.
John and Rosemary were blessed with two children, Susan and Michael (Heather Owen) Crouch and three grandchildren, Nina and Tanner Crouch and Michael Vestal. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, children, grandchildren, his sister Marjorie Emmons and many relatives and friends.
John, along with family and friends, enjoyed many years of road trips, camping, hiking, rafting and many trips to Europe. Ireland was a favorite.
As John would say while toasting us with his Jamison "May the good Lord bless us one and all".
