Karen Adkinson

January 22, 1948 — October 28, 2021

Born January 22, 1948 in Portland Oregon, the daughter of Winona Glenn and Fredrick Kennedy she was raised in Chester California and graduated from Lassen High School in Susanville, California in 1966 where she met her future husband John. After graduation, she moved to Portland, Oregon; Hayward, California; and Reno, Nevada. On June 4, 1968 Karen married John Adkinson in Reno, Nevada.

As a military spouse of 20 years, Karen lived in Hawaii, California, Oregon (2x), Nevada (3x), Arizona, Montana (2x), North Dakota (2x), and Colorado, retiring from the military in 1988 calling Colorado her home from that point forward. Member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Denver, Colorado (DFC) and a member of the Native American Maidu tribe of the Susanville Rancheria, Susanville, California.

Karen is survived by her husband of 53 years John, sons Robert and Brian. She is also survived by her brother Bill Cofer of Chester, California and sister Vicki Jo Bartlett of Reno, Nevada.

Beautiful wife, wonderful mother, devoted friend and follower/ servant of Jesus Christ.

Following cremation, A memorial service will be held November 18, 2021 at 2pm at the Aurora Horan and McConaty Chapel at the corner of Parker Road and Dartmouth Avenue. Interment will be at the Fort Logan National Cemetery.
