Katharine Bond

Katharine (Kathy) Zitkowski Bond, 84, passed away on July 8, 2021.

Kathy was born on 5/26/1937 in Oxnard, California to Frederick August Zitkowski and Elizabeth Stuart Cooper Zitkowski. Kathy was predeceased by her brother Frederick Stuart.

She is succeeded by her children Peter Bond & Tammra Bond, Kate Bond & Tobin, Matthew Bond & Tamara Reynolds Bond, and Tirzah Bond & Gabby.

She had eight grandchildren Nicole Gillham, Keegan Bond, and Palmer Bond, Jordan Reynolds & Anna Rozenberg, Alexandria Reynolds Asmus & Christopher Asmus, and Jackson Bond.

She also had six great grandchildren Austin Bond & Reilly McGavern, Joshua Gillham, Haddon Asmus, McCrae Asmus and Afton Asmus.

She was also very close to her nieces, Katharine Stuart Ostergaard & Paul Ostergaard and Betsy Stuart Kehoe & Patrick Kehoe.

Kathy moved to Colorado in 1954 to attend the University of Colorado where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English. She had a way of sharing her joy of life with everyone she met.  Kathy devoted a great deal of her love and energy to raising her four adopted children, with her husband Stanley Bond.  The Bond family household was made complete through the addition of many family pets throughout the years. Kathy had so much love to share she also found time to support the Denver Dumb Friend's League as a volunteer. Kathy’s legacy is one of building community and friendships that lasted a lifetime. With her warmth and charm, she made an art of connecting with people. She was a part of social groups that spanned five decades. She touched so many people in her lifetime, and her family and friends will feel her absence deeply.

There will be an open visitation Monday, July 12th from 1 pm to 2 pm at Horan and McConaty, 1091 S Colorado Blvd, Denver CO 80246.
