Kieth Vandoren

Kieth Walter Van Doren, age 79, died peacefully at home in Centennial, Colorado on Thursday August 26th, 2021.  The cause of death was complications from melanoma.

Born April 10th, 1942 in Webster City, Iowa, where he went to high school and was active in sports including basketball, football and golf, he subsequently lived in Cedar Falls, Des Moines, Sioux City and Webster City, Iowa before moving to Larkspur, Colorado in 1985 and later moving to Centennial, Colorado.  He was a high school teacher and golf coach in Cedar Falls, where he had obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in teaching from the University of Northern Iowa.  He then moved to Des Moines where he attended Drake University and graduated with honors with a law degree.  He worked in the field of law then for the rest of his career, including private practice in Webster City in partnership with Don Bottorff (deceased), and then with the law firm Burg Simpson in Denver until he retired in 2005.

And from his good friend Thom Preslan, “one last thought for Kieth when he gets to heaven and sees the golf courses there: hit ‘em straight and not too often Mr. Van Doren.  You were a hell of a man!”

Kieth is survived by his wife Ann True of Centennial, Colorado, his sister Patricia (Elton) Jansen of Mesa, Arizona, his sons Chris (Stephanie) Van Doren of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Rob (Emily) Van Doren of Loveland, Colorado, and step-children Jay (Heather) Miller of Arvada, Colorado, Charles (Stacey) True of Denver, Colorado and Pam Mullins of Las Vegas, Nevada, grand children Dillon of Waukee, Iowa, Nathan currently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Joseph, Alyssa and Christopher of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Quinn and Luka of Loveland, Colorado, Collin of Denver, Colorado, and Jenna and Hannah of Las Vegas, Nevada, and one great-grandchild Aubree Van Doren of Waukee, Iowa.

Kieth was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Cora (nee Bailey) Van Doren, brother Jim Van Doren, and son Kurt Van Doren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday September 6th, 2021 at Horan & McConaty 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, Colorado 80014.
