Lisa Anne Buchkowski

Lisa Anne Buchkowski was born in Denver, Colorado on December 20, 1964 to Herbert and Betty Buchkowski. She lived her life in Aurora, Colorado, residing in her childhood home for almost her entire life. Lisa graduated from Aurora Central High School and went on to attend the University of Denver, where she acquired a degree in Mass Communications. Out of college, she worked for a number of radio and television stations, until she found her true calling as a mother. Lisa changed her career path at the birth of her daughter, Tiffany, and started her own catering service called, Leave it to Lisa. She served the Denver Metro Jewish community for many years and really came into her passion for service. Lisa was an active volunteer for the Friends of Saint Andrew Food Bank and loved giving back to her community. Lisa was very active in the Catholic church and in her community, as a true servant of the Lord. Lisa faithfully took care of her step-mother, Lois for 17 years. Lois had Alzheimer’s disease for more than 20 years and Lisa always wanted to make sure that she could stay in her own home for the rest of her life, which she was able to accomplish. Lisa was an avid Bronco and Rockies fan and attended as many games as possible, including multiple Super Bowls and World Series games. Everyone who met Lisa would say that by far, her most proud accomplishment was her daughter, Tiffany. Lisa was active in Tiffany’s schools, sports and any activity that she was ever involved in. After battling for almost 8 years with cancer, Lisa passed away peacefully on August 16, 2017 while being held in her daughter’s arms. She was a beautiful soul, the most kind person anyone could every meet and a true angel on earth. The world lost a bright light when Lisa left this earth.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mom Betty, her dad, Herbert, and her step-mother Lois. Lisa is survived by her daughter, Tiffany, her son-in-law Taddeus and many loving friends and cousins.
A rosary and visitation will be held on August 21, 2017 5pm at Horan and McConaty 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. Aurora CO 80014. A funeral mass will be held on August 22, 2017 10am at St. Therese Catholic Church 1243 Kingston St, Aurora, CO 80010, followed by a reception at the church. Lisa will be buried at Fairmount Cemetery at a private graveside service.
