Magnett (Mag) Clement O’Shea, age 100, died peacefully in his home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado on August 12, 2021. He was born May 20, 1921, in Blaine, Kansas.
After graduating from high school, he married Marguerite Staten in Ogden, Kansas, and had two children, Michael O’Shea and Mary Ann O’Shea.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army Infantry and was in the battlefields of Leyte, Philippines and Okinawa, Japan. He was a Purple Heart recipient. After discharge, Mag joined the U.S. Army Reserve and retired as Major after 40 years of service.
He had a 40-year career in nuclear energy at Hanford Project in Washington state and then with Rocky Flats in Denver.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite O’Shea, and son, Michael O’Shea. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann O’Shea, of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Shannon, Mike, Michelle, Patrick, Ricky; four great grandchildren, Jackson, Ella, Payton and Connor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 24, 11 a.m. A private burial with Military (Color Guard) Honors will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Ogden, Kansas, for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to honor Mag’s life, please make a donation in his name to Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs.
