Mark Etchason
Mark Douglas Etchason of Littleton, Colorado left our world suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Mark is survived by his adoring wife, Nancy, his devoted children, John and Mary Anne, and countless family members and friends. His greatest achievement in life was his family, and he worked hard to model a life of faith, love and fun. His loyalty to all was to be admired.
Mark moved to Colorado from the Chicago area immediately after graduating from Northern Illinois University in 1985. He began his career as a sales professional in Colorado Springs where he met his wife-to-be. He excelled at his chosen profession, working as a sales executive for Comcast Spotlight in Denver for the past 15 years. He maintained lifelong friends and mentors from these opportunities.
His passion for music and sports was boundless. He loved and relished playing his guitar with friends or in a solo jam session. He loved hiking, biking and skiing. An avid sports fan and fantasy sports team owner and champion, he cheered for all his favorite teams and enjoyed attending Avalanche hockey games with family and friends, especially his daughter.
Mark cherished spending time with his son and daughter and beamed with pride at their achievements. He took his family on wonderful vacations - always filled with silly fun and good times (and sometimes a bright yellow convertible). He was never so happy as to provide an opportunity for a ""girls' trip"" and then have a major home improvement ""surprise"" project completed upon their return. Mark and Nancy celebrated their 25th anniversary with a trip to Italy, the highlight of which was receiving a blessing by Pope Francis.
As a friend, Mark was the best. To know Mark was truly to love Mark. He was the type of man who could find joy in every situation and bring it to everyone around him. Losing him so suddenly leaves a huge void in our world and our lives.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Douglas. He leaves behind his loving mother Maxine, sisters Diane and Michelle, and his extended family of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law - all who think the world of him. He is also survived by his work family at Comcast Spotlight, so many of whom contributed to his success and his professional fulfillment.
