Marylu Miller, 83, passed away on August 17, 2019. She was born on March 7, 1936 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Marylu grew up in Omaha and graduated from Duchenne Academy. She received her Associates degree from Pine Manor Junior College in Massachusetts. She was a lifelong learner and a huge believer in the power of education. She was also a true and early feminist and she taught all her children how to be strong. After getting her MFA from the the University of Denver she taught art at Holy Family High School. Soon she would shift to working in advertising, then radio and television. She was one of the first women in the field.
Marylu was a true inspiration. She brought joy to all and expressed it in her artwork. She continued to share her many talents with others when she taught at Ventura College in Ventura, California. One of her greatest achievements, in addition to her five children, was her one-woman art shows in California.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Miller; daughters, Michaella Kaszuba (John), Melinda Tucker (Michael), Kelley Terry (Robert), Kerry Cooper (Stewart); son, James MacKay; grandchildren, Kendall Dallow (Melanie), Kent Dallow (Ellen), Matthew Kaszuba, Sam and Ryan Tucker, Amy and Zach Cooper; Brieana, Amanda, and Emily MacKay; brother. Michael Madden (Linda); and her beloved pets, Jenny & Milow.
