Suellen Reeves

April 9, 1941 — December 7, 2022

Littleton, Colorado

Suellen Brusnahan Reeves, 81, died December 7, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.

Suellen was born on April 9, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, to Stan and Ellen (Kresler) Brusnahan.  She grew up in Rensselaer, Indiana, where she was a standout scholar.  While on her trip to college to begin her freshman year at the University of Colorado, she met her future husband, Ron Reeves.  The two fell in love during college and, following graduation, were married in Boulder, Colorado on December 28, 1963.

While at the University of Colorado, Suellen was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and participated in many charitable and philanthropic endeavors.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and, upon graduating, accepted a teaching position to put Ron through law school.

After living for several years in Lakewood, Ron and Suellen built a home in Evergreen, Colorado, where they became members of Hiwan Golf Club and were intimately involved in the community.  Suellen headed the Parent/Teacher Association at Bergen Elementary School, and led numerous community fund-raising efforts.

Suellen loved to travel, and made lifelong friends during her journeys.  She worked for many years as a travel consultant in Evergreen, and led multiple African safaris, taking her family, friends and clients on the adventure of their lifetimes.

Suellen was known for her strength, passion, subtle sense of humor, and most of all, her kindness.  She was a beautiful person with a deep and caring soul, and brought out the best in everybody around her.  She was a devout Catholic, and a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Suellen was an avid reader and also enjoyed golf, tennis, bridge, bowling, knitting, cooking and spending quality time with family and friends.

Suellen is predeceased by her parents and brother Pat.  She is survived by Ron Reeves, her husband of 59 years, daughter Molly (Kurt) and granddaughters Grace and Aimee Kennedy of Lakewood, Colorado, son David (Mindy) Reeves of Lone Tree, Colorado, grandson Jack (Jessica) and great-granddaughter Taylor Reeves of Englewood, Colorado, granddaughter Peyton (Shawn) Hottle of Windsor, Colorado, cousins Steve and Tom Henley of Nokomis, Florida, and numerous in-laws.

Suellen’s family will hold a private Mass.  A Celebration of Life will be held in 2023 at a time and date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ( https://diy.lls.org/fundraiser/4317207 ) in Suellen’s memory.
