Sullivan Leuck Miller was born on January 31, 2020. He surprised his Mom and Dad with an early arrival and how much their hearts could grow to love someone they had only just met. Sullivan passed away peacefully at home in his parent’s arms on September 21, 2021.
Sullivan was a warrior who battled numerous medical complications throughout his short but impactful life. He loved to be outside on walks through our neighborhood, he cherished his time at KidStreet and he loved to be snuggled. He was loved deeply by every nurse that cared for him and was an inspiration to the many who followed his journey.
Sullivan was an only child and cherished by his parents, Melissa Leuck Miller and Timothy C. Miller, of Denver, CO. His was beloved by his grandparents, Elizabeth (Beth) & Mark Leuck of Western Springs, IL and Richard (Dick) Miller & his wife, Joyce Lawson Miller of Mount Vernon, OH. He was the adored nephew of Kevin Leuck and James Leuck of Chicago, IL and Michael (Mike) & Nancy Miller of Hilliard, OH. He loved his cousins, Aiden and Kelly Miller, also of Hilliard. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara (Peggy) Miller.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join us for a celebration of Sullivan’s life on Friday, October 1 at 11 am, with a reception immediately following. The services will be held at Horan & McConaty, located at 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue in Aurora, CO. We kindly ask that you join us only if you have been vaccinated.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please donate to one of the following in Sullivan's honor:
KidStreet at Children's Hospital Colorado - Sullivan was so lucky to attend KidStreet and his tribute helps them continue to work their magic for other kids with complex medical needs. Gifts in honor of Sullivan will provide critical support to KidStreet so they can deliver the best care and learning environment for children like Sully. This is one of only a handful of programs like it in the country - we were so fortunate there was a program as amazing at KidStreet right here in Colorado.
Denver Botanic Gardens - We will be purchasing a memorial bench in Sullivan's honor. The Denver Botanic Gardens are a very special place for us - it was where Tim and I were married and where we spent many lovely mornings with Sully. We would love a place to continue to feel close to him and enable others to enjoy the beauty of the Gardens.
