Ted Devries

Ted Lawrence DeVries (66) died on Saturday, November 6th at his home in Aurora, CO. Born August 22, 1955, in Sibley, Iowa, Ted was the son of Lawrence and Irene DeVries of George, Iowa.  Ted graduated from George High School in 1973 and Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis, MN in 1974.  He was employed with Delta Airlines until his retirement on July 31, 2020, 12 days shy of 46 years of service.  During his tenure with Delta Airlines he worked at their Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City and Boston locations.  Ted enjoyed watching his children’s sports, gardening, skiing, golfing, camping, and traveling with Delta Airlines.

He leaves to cherish his memories his three children, TJ (Molly) DeVries and grandson Jameson of Aurora, CO, Richard DeVries of Milliken, CO and Brittnee DeVries of Marietta, GA, two siblings, Dennis DeVries of George, IA, and Debbie (Howard) Hoyme of Waseca, MN and five nieces and nephews, Melissa (Michael) Stagman, Jason (Anna) Hoyme, Katie (Thomas) Rieck, Megan (Brandon) Jewell, and Kelsey (Daniel) Ries and their families. Aunt Margaret (Janie) Krahling and many cousins.  Ted was preceded in death by both of his parents, Lawrence and Irene DeVries and his niece, Jessica DeVries.

In place of flowers, the family requests donations in Ted's name to the American Red Cross which Delta Airlines is a major sponsor or any charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life for Ted will take place at Smoky Hill United Methodist Church, 19491 E Smoky Hill Rd., Centennial CO 80015 on December 3rd at noon. Masks are required at the Celebration of Life . Reception to follow at Parkway Bar & Grill, 22775 E Aurora Parkway, Aurora CO 80016 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  Please leave a comment as condolence for his family on his Tribute Wall above.

Interment will be at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George IA, next spring, date to be announced at a later time.
