Virginia "Ginny" Morris

June 7, 1939 — October 19, 2022

Virginia "Ginny" Marie Morris—age 83, of Centennial, Colorado and formerly Glenwood Springs—died peacefully in her sleep on October 19, 2022. Ginny grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and earned a bachelor of science degree from Carnegie Institute of Technology where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George.  They met in Pittsburgh at the young age of 15.

Ginny is survived by her son Doug, his wife Mary, and their children Ella and Joe, as well as her other son Jeff, his wife Tina, and their children Mac, Molli, and Marty.

Ginny was an avid gardener, excelling in growing a wide variety of outdoor plants where she lived in Glenwood Springs, CO and Price, Utah. She thrived in the outdoors, enjoying hiking and cross-country skiing in Colorado and the Southwest. Among her many life adventures and travels, at age 50 she hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim with her husband George and friends. Ginny started a weekly outdoors group named the Wednesday Wanderers that would hike and cross-country ski in western Colorado for decades. She was also a dedicated member of the Glenwood Springs United Methodist Church.

Ginny was a devoted daughter, caring for her mother for many years, as well as an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother. Ginny passes on her love for plants, flowers, travel and the outdoors to her children and grandchildren.
