Willard "Wood" Dawson

August 4, 1954 — October 16, 2022

Wood passed away peacefully on Sunday, 10/16/22.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Thursday, 11/3 at 11 am at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Road.

He leaves behind his two children, Lindsey and Justin. He was the proud grandfather of Lucy, Sam, Bryce, and Landon. He was also a beloved father-in-law to Natacha and Dan. Wood was an incredibly devoted father and friend, and was liked by every person who he crossed paths with. He was kind, funny, compassionate, and extremely selfless. He enjoyed traveling, The Beatles, and his favorite hobby was putting together a prime rib dinner for his entire family on Christmas Eve every year.

Wood was born in Washington, Iowa and was one of five brothers, which consisted of two sets of twins. He moved to Aurora, Colorado when he was a young child, and later joined the Army in which he proudly served from 1973-1976. After his service, he met the love of his life, Tammy, whom he married and started his family with. Tammy sadly passed away in 1993, and Wood dedicated his whole life to raising his two children proudly and selflessly. He was an extremely proud father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
