Yaroslav Hirnyak

Yaroslav Hirnyak was born on October 15, 1940 to Ivan Hirnyak and Anna Chaban in Sanok, Poland. Shortly after, his family moved to Western Ukraine. After graduating from L'viv State Medical University with a Master's degree in 1963, Yaroslav started his medical career in the field of endocrinology, compassionately helping his patients for nearly forty years. He married Victoria Finkovska on August 8, 1970. Yaroslav moved to the United States in 2003, becoming a U.S. citizen in 2011.

All his life Yaroslav was an avid music lover. He collected old records, and music was always a big part of his life. He learned how to play the accordion and guitar, and often loved singing for his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Victoria, his daughter Natalia and son Andriy, sister Halyna, and granddaughter Talya.

A memorial service for Yaroslav will be held on November 28th at 11:00 am at Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church located at 4118 Shoshone St. Denver, CO 80211. The burial service at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery will follow immediately after.
