Yolanda Rodriguez

October 7, 1934 — May 14, 2021

Yolanda S. Rodriguez, 86, of Pueblo, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2021.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio C. Rodriguez, and children, Daniel Rodriguez and Lori Bruntzel, father, mother, and siblings.  Yolanda is survived by children, Denise (Monty Barnett) Grieve, Sonya (Walter) Weilbacher, Evelyn (Jim Burandt) Chavez, Christopher (Julianne) Rodriguez, and Pamela (Jason) Marquez, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Yolanda was a homemaker for most of her life taking care of her children and supporting her husband who was enlisted and retired from the Air Force.  Yolanda always missed her beloved hometown and extended family in San Antonio, Texas, and always looked forward to visits.  Yolanda was a dedicated and religious child of God and it was always important to her to teach her children and grandchildren where their true home was; with God.  Later in life, in her 50s and after her husband retired, Yolanda went to school to earn her degree in nursing.  Yolanda loved being a nurse and her children have always been proud of her and taught us all “If mom could do it, we could too!”

Yolanda’s ashes will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with her husband Ignacio and son Daniel in her beloved hometown of San Antonio, Texas.
