Gloria Kirk

Gloria Brown Kirk, daughter of Myrtle Hendrix Brown and Robert Everette Brown was born March 5, 1930 in Curryville, Missouri. She was the youngest of 17 children.

She passed away peacefully on Monday evening, March 2, 2020. She was 89 years old.

Gloria grew up on a farm near Curryville and attended Bowling Green High School. She met James Kirk of Bowling Green, Missouri, and they married on October 9, 1948.

Gloria was a homemaker that loved flowers, gardening, and traveling. She also loved music and the music programs of Peak View Assisted Living. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, and visiting National Parks. Gloria liked to read; and in later life due to declining eyesight, listening to books on tape. She always wanted to hear about the grandkids and how they were doing.

She was mother to Stephen J. Kirk, wife Jan Kirk of Goodyear, Arizona; Linda R. Ryan, husband Mark Ryan of Tampa, Florida; and Leisa K. Miller, husband Ken Miller of Parker, Colorado.

Family of Steve & Jan include Gina Ohland, husband Paul Ohland of Chandler, Arizona; Ashley Kirk of Los Angeles, California, and Stephen James Kirk, wife Nicole Kirk, daughter Kinsley Kirk of Royal Oak, Michigan.

Family of Linda and Mark include Scott Ryan, fiancé Carly Baines of Boise, Idaho; and Rebecca Ryan, fiancé Mike Torres, children Liam and Cash of Miami, Florida.

Family of Leisa and Ken include Lauren Wade, husband Ed, daughter Luna of San Diego, California; Kristin Calderon, husband Cesar Calderon of Aurora, Colorado; Ryan Miller, wife Megan Miller, son William of Wellington, Colorado; and Lindsey Miller and Taylor Doying of Aurora, Colorado.

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband James Kirk who passed away January 9, 2013.
